Is it possible to have a ‘chat’ facility on the forum…?
…now before panic sets in…I know you’re not clued up on such matters Mateo…you did have to be dragged kicking and screaming onto facebook BUT couldn’t we get it done.
Like Steve F says…we’re all spread out over the vastness of the powysverse.
I think it would be good to get to know each other a bit and be able to have a realtime ‘conversation’ with each other but maybe you guys HATE the idea
We’ve looked at it — there are some server limitations, other fun technical problems to consider, but we could leverage existing chat utilities. Time will tell…
You could add friends on FaceBook and use their chat facilities. Just go through the list of Powys friends and add the ones you would like to chat with…
Look for Powys Chat on the Main Menu on the left — we’ll try it out for a bit and see how it goes — behave yourselves, everyone!

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a chat room before. I’ve only just mastered MSN Messenger! :blink:
It might be god to see about getting rid of the archive. It feels like eavesdropping. Just a thought. Otherwise, it’s cool.

The only problem with the chat is that now the forum seems to have gone quiet… Early days I suppose.
The other problem with chat is that when I am ready for a bit of a chat it is the middle of the night everywhere else and eeryone’s asleep. 🙁

probems with ‘chat’ as I see them :
[b]number 1[/b] – there’s no-one to play with when I’m out to play 🙁
[b]number 2[/b] – it should have a health warning as it can easily become addictive – (now you all know how I voted) 🙂
[b]number 3[/b] – only a proper, fully fledged and bona fide member should be able to ‘chat’ 😛 meaning ‘guests’ should be NOT be allowed to ‘chat’ – me thinks ( no…me knows ) some of you are being sneaky 😉
[b]number 4[/b] – MOST IMPORTANT I THINK – we need to keep Mateo and BL and everyone else involved with bringing us new sp1999 books…doing just that – working on bringing us new books – we don’t want them distracted with ‘chat’ rooms :side:
…now I’m going to log off the powys website and get back to work and try and resist the urge to log back on – well at least for the next hour or so…think I might need some sort of ‘patch’ 😆
I don’t think that’s exactly what she has in mind.
Maybe something more along the lines of the Velcro patch Kano’s got on the back of his head would be good. You know, then we wouldn’t have to type and make all those mistakes. We could just think out chat and taa daaa! :silly:

I am SO totally in agreement with all of these points.
Stiill, when you log on to it… it’s nice to see other people have been nattering about ’99 before you. I LIKE eavesdropping! :ohmy: 😉
