KeymasterSpace: 1999 Born for Adversity is now available on Amazon.com. Amazon sales help to bring people to this site. At your convenience, you can help us out by simply reviewing the book on the Amazon site. That will help bump it up in Amazon’s search listings. Even if you don’t want to write a review, clicking the rating button on the Amazon page will help get the book to be more visible.
Thanks!

KeymasterThanks, folks — as a result of the reviews you’ve added, Born for Adversity has jumped to #4 on Amazon’s list of Space:1999 books.

ParticipantTo show my ignorance… how do you pull up such a list for a given series of books?
August 5, 2010 at 5:12 am #1155Bill Latham
KeymasterJust search for “Space: 1999” in books.

ParticipantI apologize for not being clear. I meant to ask how does one pull up a rank list for a given topic of books.

As of 8:50 AM EDT it’s now #1.

KeymasterJust as described — if you enter Space 1999 as a search term, in the books area, the search results are ranked — meaning Amazon has internal mechanisms that will govern how close to the top of the returned list a book title will appear based on reviews, sales, etc. So just to be clear, a month ago, if you searched for Space:1999 in books, Born for Adversity was around 33 (you’d have to scroll passed 32 other book titles before you saw it). Now, with the reviews, it’s showing up as the third book.

ParticipantHuh. I’ve never noticed that function before. Amazon’s search engine must have some interesting parameters. There’s a Playboy listed at #15 (an edition from 1999, but of course), and, not to be overlooked, the ever-popular ‘The Global Theory of Minimal Surfaces in Flat Spaces’ at #33.
BfA now ranks number one. 🙂
