“Originals with modifications from the scripts as needed.”
— the big thing is novelizations of the actual episodes themselves, where they’re weren’t always “representative” of the broadcast episodes, will be made more representative —
guess that means there will be some noticeable changes with Space Guardians. Brian Ball did a good job of meshing the 3 stories together and filling them out in that one. I recall that added scene in Missing Link where Bergman found an ancient alien ship with 3 empty suspended animation chambers. And Koenig’s continued depression and eventual recovery through the rest of the novel.

thanks for the update and all the extra work to keep this site up and running.

and for the book size of the forthcoming novels – I gotta have the standard size paperback. The whole set needs to be uniform when lined up on the shelf.

You owe me $1.00 for each typo you find.

in that case, I won’t mention the one right there on Page 1.

I’ve always enjoyed reading Ball’s The Space Guardians, for his different style and his take on the episodes.

I do still wonder if he was supposed to write a second book of the original adaptations, but for some reason it didn’t pan out and it went instead to Rankine.

Just spotted the site update this morning and fired off my order just now.

Also found that you can stack coupon codes.
Put in JUN50 as Bill mentions for reduced shipping
and then put in GETIT15 for 15% off the books

if past performance is any indication of how things are working, I don’t think I’ll receive the book until after the July 4th holiday weekend. but wouldn’t have time to read it then anyways.

great to hear it’s getting closer!
looking forward to reading some new 1999 in the near future.

editorial thought- avoid the repetition of the word ‘save’ in the second sentence on the back cover blurb.

That suggests it’s been known for ten years that Y1 wouldn’t happen. Even if John Mason is mistaken about Tubb and Ball, pulling his father’s material is a pretty serious blow to the project.
yes, I read that entry in Mason’s blog several months ago, and it was some seriously disconcerting news.

But, I still remain optimistic regarding the Year 1 omnibus announcement that Bill Latham hopes to be able to relay to everyone at some point soon – as he stated on the home page.

I feel like my wish for new books from Powys this year was accidentally made on a Monkey’s Paw…

The news is both good and bad, but either way, I want to say thanks to all of the Powys team, for what has been created and published in the past decade. Mateo set out with lofty goals and a bold vision for Powys, and I feel he’s achieved most all of what he set out to do – which is quite a fantastic accomplishment. Powys not only continued the adventures, but strove to tackle the impossible of attempting to bridge Year 1 and Year 2, as well as pushing forward to Year 3 and beyond. No easy feat.

I’m eagerly looking forward to being able to place the Year 1 Omni on the shelf next to the Year 2 Omni (I’m still thrilled that I was able to help out in a small way with the publishing of that book!) I truly hope the stars align for that project.

thanks again – and here’s to 2015!
Ultra, try one more time — I looked into the plumbing behind the scenes and you had the old Joomla text editor (probably left over from the old site) — I switched you to the newer one.

So in the forum, you should see a tab called Profile. If you click that, then you should see the edit thing.
thanks for trying Bill, but that made no difference. I still don’t have the word EDIT in my profile page, and it looks the same as in the pic I posted above.
Okay, I fixed the link for you (that seems to work now). When you’re in the forum and you click the Profile tab (do you see that?), you should see an Edit link all the way to right, typically in red. Firefox seems to be spotty — IE seems to work fine.
thanks for fixing the link!

I’ll attempt to attach a pic, showing the lack of Edit buttons, but as I mentioned before, there does not appear to be anything available on the Profile page for modification. I checked in Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

Looks like the attaching works. that’s cool.

I’ll attempt to embed the image as well

Ultra, I’m able to update my avatar — can you try again? Once you upload the picture, just Save. It’s not the most intuitive interface unfortunately. And make sure you don’t pick a picture from the gallery. Also, the URL in your signature leads to a dead link — if there’s a different URL you want, post it up here and I can update your signature for you.
the problem I’m seeing is that there are no options to modify *anything* on the Profile page.
No options to update the avatar.
No options to update the signature.
etc.
I’m thinking maybe as admin you have the options, but the rest of us don’t?

my URL in the sig. broke after Martin Wiley updated the Catacombs awhile back.
my webpage is now: mondstation.space1999.net

thanks!

thanks for the mini-update Bill.
I was hoping the Amazon review bribe would work too – but this shouldn’t stop anyone. Get those reviews for Shepherd Moon up on Amazon folks!
Similar to Zack, I check here most every day for small updates such as this, but always hold my breath waiting to see if there is a big update and a book is ready to order.

I also keep checking to see the forum features are enabled at some point. It’d be nice to get our avatar pictures back up.
.. or be able to fix the broken website link in my signature
