Is this the thread for CTC… ?? I’m actually in a bit of a daze at the moment :silly: :side: 😆
I’ve just this minute finished reading it for the second time ( I read it the initially whilst skiing over the New Year holiday and I have to admit didn’t really do it justice at the time).
My conclusion…It’s fascinating and absorbing and mindblowing to say the very least !!
Mateo and BL – I already knew that a lot of time and effort had gone into creating the Powys books but I had no real appreciation of quite how much !!!!!
CTC is like every other thing in the powysverse – constructed and written with such skill and on so many levels that it’s easy to loose yourself within it. I wasn’t expecting that from a non-fiction book. I wasn’t expecting it to be so indepth. You can’t read it without getting involved…well I didn’t seem able to anyway !! I’ve been looking things up and doing web searches and I even found myself making notes the other day ( maybe I’m taking it a little to seriously – who knows ) but this evening I managed to finish it for the second time and I can have to say again that I’ve found myself in awe of what Powys has managed to achieve.
…oh…and did I mention that it also made me laugh…not sure if it was supposed to…but it did :laugh: 😆 BL – you can be very funny at times…
I’ll second that request…coasters for wine and tea 🙂 the tea being drunk of course from my new Powysverse mug

It sits next to me in my office all day every day, I dip into it every day to check on some detail – it goes on holiday with me and I take it to bed every night…it is my constant companion 😉
E- books would work for me too…not to replace the actual book – I would still have to have the book – but it would be a great way of having them always at my fingertips!
Simon, I think, always buys two copies of every book to allow him to keep one pristine copy and have one to read. I wish I’d thought of that from the beginning.
I’m terrified every time I get out my copy of Year Two – it’s almost too incredible to read 🙂

Huge fancy dress party – theme for this year would be ‘Cavemen’ obviously…
It would be a wild night – lots of singing and dancing 😆 probably some sort of spit roast…’ribs anyone’
Then – fall asleep in a corner somewhere…
…and awake sometime late the next day in a complete fog with just vague memories of what happened the night before !! :woohoo:

My copy just arrived in South Wales :cheer: perfect timing – I shall take it skiing with me next week…ummmmm…that is if I can wait until then to read it !!!
Second thoughts – I shall probably re-read it while skiing next week – obviously not at the same – time that would be irresponsible :laugh:

If Kano had ever had the chance to meet Pat S he would have been amazed by her and maybe a little in awe too.
Her incredible, encyclopedic knowledge of ‘Space 1999’ would put ‘Main Computer’ to shame :laugh:
