Can somebody supply me with the webaddress and where to go to purchase the Compendium on lulu.com? It’s been awhile since I’ve ordered from them.

    Thanks. 🙂

Steven F makes a valid point. His opinions and thoughts certainly mirror(echo)my own. I, for one, don’t want to see Space:1999 remade. It was bad enough that Battlestar Galactica and V were remade. Let alone Thunderbirds.

The film industry really needs to leave the classics the way they are. Untouched and unblemished. There have been far too many remakes in the past ten years, and there should be no more remakes period.

Seriously, it is just ridiculous to tamper with a work of art. It’s as bad as re-painting Michelangelo’s beautiful creation on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, itself.

If ITC sanctions this huge mistake, then Space:1999’s reputation will be permanently tarnished. And in a very negative way.

    :angry 🙁 :

Looking forward to viewing the Compendium, Phoenix Of Megaron, and The Whispering Sea.

This is a great way to start off the new year!

Could be a shadowlock of some type. LOL! If you remember the ITC Entertainment Group film ‘Saturn 3’, shadowlock was another name for an eclipse.

Anyway, what is the latest scoop on the upcoming release of P of M? Is it in the final stages of being published?

Sorry about the missing the picture. Somehow, the computer would not paste it on the message, after it was posted.

    Oh, well…

Here is a picture of me at a Midnight Showing of 2001: A Space Odyssey, in Louisville. I’m holding a cup of English tea, because I was having some minor stomach trouble that evening.

Definately like the cover. I’m certainly looking forward to its release.

Which reminds me. What’s the latest scoop(information update)on the classic re-release?

Keep up the good work. Space:1999 is getting better and better with each novel. 🙂

I’m certainly looking forward to Phoenix Of Megaron. I am curious as to how it will be re-written to fit into the official Space:1999 canon and Powysuniverse guidelines.

Definitely looking forward to The Whispering Sea and Prodigy Moon. 🙂 Let alone the re-write of Phoenix Of Megaron. :cheer:

After the rough year I have had, I’m looking forward to some new challenges and distractions in the 11th year of the 21st Century.

And those new distractions and challenges will be the next wave of Space:1999 novels. Stories that will certainly have surprises for the fans. Plenty of them, at that.

The intergalactic odyssey of Moonbase Alpha will see no end. And the Alphans, themselves, will encounter more than just the wonders and the mysteries of the universe, itself.

And that, is the best distraction to have, in the times we are living in. B)

Definately a cover that Lovecraft…let alone the Old Ones…would have been proud of.

I’ll admit that Brian’s voice was not all that hot, but he wasn’t such a bad character. Honestly, he could have made a wonderful addition to the Moonbase Alpha staff. With a reprogrammed voice(something like Dr. Theopolis), the mobile computer could have worked alongside Maya.

And what is so bad about Yasko? Personally, I thought she was a decent(if not attractive)character. She has been given a hard time for over thirty five years. Honestly, she is not so bad.

    But, that’s just my opinion.

An excellent analysis, PatS. My compliments.

Space:1999 was definately influenced by another classic odyssey.

Aside from Homer’s classic adventure in Greek mythology, it was also influenced by(as I am certain everyone knows)the classic 1968 MGM science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey. And to some extent its classic 1984 sequel(also from MGM), 2010: The Year We Make Contact.

Some of the best in the science fiction genre.

    🙂
