Well, to reward your checking back every hour… We received the approval for Born for Adversity this morning. As soon as we receive Catherine Schell’s foreword we’ll go to press! She is currently reading the book and has said she is enjoying it. What an honor for us–both that she is writing a foreword and that she is enjoying the book!

    So keep checking back!

We’ve texted each other before this reply, but it is really good to hear from you.

So as not to make this a personal note, I should say: Simon is a long-time friend and Powys supporter. He has more than a few interviews with the authors up on the site and has served as the our fan conscience–reading the manuscripts pre-publication and giving us his opinions. Simon does so as a fan and reader. Martin, for example, does so also, but more for continuity and science. I respect both men’s opinions and no book published has not had changes (and made all the better for them) suggested by Simon and/or Martin.

Funny this internet, to communicate with people–in this case for more than decade–never having actually met them! Can you believe we’ve been corresponding since October 1997!

    Health,

    Mateo

Talked to her this morning. She is reading the book and said, “I like it. It’s really good!” I told her I’d pass her comments along to the author. Done. What a lovely person she is.

Nothing to do with Space: 1999, sorry to day. JMS contributed a foreword to our first Prisoner book, Prisoner’s Dilemma. Ursula K. LeGuin contribued a foreword to Robert Sheckley’s novella, In a Land of Clear Colors. Robert Sheckley was writing a Prisoner novel when he tragically passed away. Rachel MacFarland is going to release a collection of her photographs, a sort of portrait of Manchester focused on the people of the city.

No, she is a photographer from Manchester, England. Love Seth though!

Shepherd Moon and the Resurrection audiobook will be coming out almost simultaneously. We are planning to have the audio book go to press either late this week or early next week. Shepherd Moon will likely become available for order sometime next week as well.

After that we will move on to Born for Adversity. The Omega. As you know Catherine Schell is graciously writing the foreword to BfA. We have a nice surprise in store for everyone as to the foreword for Omega–when the cover is put up you’ll find out!

We are too. At the final stages, little things come up that always set you back a little. Strangely, every time it is something different. Program incompatibilities, changes to addresses, logos, found typos, printer queues…

A lot goes into publishing a book or a CD that most people are unaware of. It’s so close…every little delay seems an eternity. As much as the fans want to have the books, we want to get them to you. It’s your feedback and comments that are the icing on the cake.

Enjoy your three-day weekend (at least those in the U.S.). We’ve got some “new” news coming soon–including the cover for OMEGA!

The prices of our books will remain the same. The 4 x 7 paperbacks, like Born for Adversity, will still be $15, the trade size paperbacks (6 x 9) like Eternity Unbound will remain $20, Year One will be $100. The only new kind of release will be the Resurrection audiobook, which will be $30.

Born for Adversity is being reviewed for approval at this moment. We’ll let you know when it is and when it will be available for purchase.

The next novel up for approval will be Omega. And we are working on preparing Year One at this time.

Hope this information answered your questions. We’re all anxious to see these books in release!
