That’s okay too! Once the book is out, the only important thing will be being excited by the story being told. That said, it still wows me to see the names of our foreword contributors so far:
Johnny Byrne
Prentis Hancock
Barry Morse
Michael Butterworth
Catherine Schell
Christopher Penfold
J. Michael Straczynskimore to come…
Mateo LatosaKeymasterActually, it had not been announced. We kept Christopher Penfold’s contribution to OMEGA a secret. Well, cat’s out of the bag now, eh? 😛 Just a little something extra from the people at Powys! Not to mention the gracious pen of Mr. Penfold!

Mateo LatosaKeymasterAre you referring to Syukhtun? Syukhtun in the Chumash name for the area they lived in along the California coast near (and including Santa Barbara). It is intended to show the Alphans settling at Santa Maria (and environs) and adopting a more back to the land sort of lifestyle.
I’ve been to the reservation and once knew a few of the elders there. I chose that title to honor them.
Mateo LatosaKeymasterSo has anyone gotten their copy of Born for Adversity? The book went on sale on Wednesday. It may be too early to expect copies to arrive, but you never know!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterSomebody has! And I believe they are posting on this forum–hint hint. And I believe they mentioned them and put a link in their post! I was actually up on that site the other day looking at the covers. I’m sure he’ll post again with all the details.
Check the Born for Adversity threads, if I’m not mistaken.
That’s your cue, Patrick! 😛
Mateo LatosaKeymasterThought you’d like to know. I am meeting with Cesar Gallegos tomorrow to give a final review of the artwork for the Resurrection audiobook. I had a few concerns about the clarity of the astromical image on the front cover, and he is working on it.
Those of you outside the Chicano community…that would be EVERYBODY 😛 …may not be aware that February is the month in which the annual Cuauhtemoc Ceremony is held. As Cesar is a Danzante Azteca (Aztec Dancer) he is preparing for the more than day-long ceremony. So we don’t have a firm date yet.
In other news, next month I will be making an announcement about the next wave of books to be released including John Kenneth Muir’s The Whispering Sea. Exciting!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterI just ordered my copies of Shepherd Moon and Born for Adversity. I can’t wait to see them! I hope people post here when they start receiving their copies.

Mateo LatosaKeymasterPerhaps I’ll see you at Gallifrey this year. I plan to go, but will not have a table. I don’t think I’d recognize you though. Feel free to email at the powys email address which is the name of the company @ then prodigy then .net

Mateo LatosaKeymasterThank you for buying and reading our books! And congratulations on your success!

Mateo LatosaKeymasterNot at this time. I love those books! Android Planet is my favorite, followed closely by Rogue Planet! Love ’em. However, Phoenix of Megaron ends with a Megaronian woman, Rhoda, coming to live on Alpha. In the pre-Year Two press releases, there was mention of an alien woman coming to live on Alpha. I thought WOW–they are respecting the continuity of the books! Alas it was not to be.
We did get Maya, though. And that’s not bad! 🙂

Mateo LatosaKeymasterWell, we never said we’d release four books per quarter, but if we re-release the older books via Lulu, then that might actually happen at some point.
My goal at the beginning was to release as many books as had been released in the 70s. So far, through first quarter 2010, we are looking at 13:
Resurrection (novel and audiobook)
The Forsaken
Survival
Eternity Unleashed (in Eternity Unbound)
*Planet of Peril (in Year Two)
*Mind-Breaks of Space (in Year Two)
*The Space-Jackers (in Year Two)
*The Psychomorph (in Year Two)
*The Time Fighters (in Year Two)
*The Edge of the Infinite (in Year Two)
Shepherd Moon
Born for Adversity
Omega (forthcoming)Mateo LatosaKeymasterAnd thank you for that! I appreciate it!

Mateo LatosaKeymasterWhen Powys publishes a book, a certain number of copies go to ITV and to Licensing Agent. They are the first books that leave the Powys hub. 🙂 The equivalent would be to have copies of the 1970s books directly from the shelves of Pocket Books (they did their own licensing).
Bliss House, and its CEO, Jerry Houle, have been our silent partners in this in a sense. You don’t hear about them, but you’ll see their name in and on EVERY BOOK we’ve ever printed.
What is important is that books that were previously out of print now suddenly have copies for sale…well, auction (and buy-it-now) for those who might still want to purchase them. I need to take some digital pics before I put them up on eBay.
Copies of Resurrection are on sale on Amazon for nearly $100 EACH! Here is a chance to pick up the books if you missed them. More info to come!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterWe’ll post information about these titles as it becomes available. We’ve got our hands full with the current slate of releases, but once they’re out, we’ll start work on the next wave of books.
Mateo
Mateo LatosaKeymasterWell, I think I speak for all of us when I say: A post like that makes it all worthwhile! Thanks! And we are happy that you liked the book!
