I just received the foreword for Android Planet, together with an author bio. I just need to put together a few more things and we’ll be ready to go to print! What things you ask?
I’ve decided to start adding an “Other books by…” section in the front of each book. I have asked John Mason to confirm that my list of novels, series and collections is complete. John Mason is also a publisher and I have offered him some space at the end to place an add for and/or link to his site–where ALL of John Rankine’s (Douglas R. Mason’s) non-Space: 1999 books have been reprinted.
I need to send the back cover text to Ken Scott so he can finish the cover. Then I need to get the final cover approved.
Finally, the arduous task of formatting the book to Lulu’s specs begins–and luckily it’s not me who does it!
See, spending time here on the Powys Media site is not just fun, it’s EDUCATIONAL! 😉
Mateo LatosaKeymasterZack, you make me laugh! And it brightens my day to see such enthusiasm. I’m sure the author will get a chuckle as well!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterThese books are commissioned, outlined and begun years before publication. We’ve got releases in the works for 2011 and 2012! We’re glad you’re patient! And thanks for your support.
Happy Holidays!
Mateo
Mateo LatosaKeymasterYou’ll have to wait and see! 😛
Mateo LatosaKeymasterCesar Gallegos, a Powys cover artist, delivered the reworked (to Lulu’s specs) artwork for the Resurrection audiobook disc-label. A second–unlimited–edition of the audiobook will soon be available through Lulu.com.
The first edition was a limited edition of 100 copies. It had a four panel booklet which included a bio of Barry Morse and a note from the author. The second edition has a two panel booklet sans liner notes. Anyone wishing to purchase FIRST edition copies can still do so, but stocks are running low.
The second edition has also been retagged to assist MP3 players and computers to play the tracks in the correct order (some older players were giving people problems with the first edition).
Mateo LatosaKeymaster139 members on this forum! Wow! Happy Holidays everyone!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterWe’ve ordered a proof copy of Chasing the Cyclops! If everything is in its place, we’ll be making the book available for purchase the same day. We are hoping people can wake up to little 4×7 cylcops dragons under the tree.
Just remember to tell the kiddies not to put their fingers near the maws–these dragons bite! 😛
[They’ll certainly take a chunk out of your day–once you start reading it, you don’t want to stop!]
Mateo LatosaKeymasterI’ve just received the manuscript back from John Mason with his edits. I will be reading it over this week. In the meantime, I’ve sent him some suggestions for his foreword–it’s always a daunting task figuring out what to say!
He is the right person to write the foreword for this book and I assured him of that. I, for one, can’t wait to read it!
We are one step closer to publication!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterI am sure David McIntee will be glad to hear that!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterI did my best to help, but clearly I am no Kano! I believe that the problem is with people using hotmail; it seems to cause problems with signing up for this forum. The last time someone had that problem, they were using hotmail as well.
So WELCOME! How did you find us? What have your read so far? Thoughts?
Mateo LatosaKeymasterThanks for the suggestions! I wish I understood half of ’em. I’m so techno-challenged!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterI don’t know, let me check my slide rule. 😛
Mateo LatosaKeymasterOkay, I signed up and finally got to the page. Great cover!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterI don’ t know about everyone else, but facebook is a mystery to me. I haven’t found the Powys page YET!
Mateo LatosaKeymasterI’m not the one burning the candle at both ends…can you guess who is?
I AM trying to keep up the pace set over the Thanksgiving holiday week off (a non-paid, non-working furlough). I did 5, 6, 8, 10 hour-days typing and editing that book. But I was glad to be productive. The following week I got all the material to the author’s son. Then printed and started reading and proofreading Chasing the Cyclops (which I finished in four days!). Last night I wrote the foreword and sent it off to the author.
Between those projects, I started on Phoenix of Megaron, and have read most of the first chapter. I hope to be done by Christmas.
Meanwhile I’ve been shipping books ordered through the Powys site, and laying the groundwork for 4 books of photography, six more audiobooks, a commission to do a score for a short film as well as a music installation for a gallery….the list goes on. It’s a good busy.
Can’t wait to see Chasing the Cyclops in print and to hear all your reactions to it. We’re hoping you get them in time for Christmas!
Oh and did I mention I am in a group called Tecamachalco Underground and our first EP comes out in January? Anyone who’d like to hear our music go to http://www.myspace.com/tecamachalcounderground . You can preview all the music from the EP, entitled Innocence.
