Just a question regarding the process of puting this extraordinarily brilliant book together.
When deciding what characters to include, and what characters to leave out, what was the criteria behind making that decision?
For example, Carolyn Powell from the Year 2 episode [b]The Lambda Factor[/b]: she doesn’t have an entry in the Compendium, even though she appears in the Year 2 Omnibus in the affromentioned story. Is there no entry for her because she’s not been mentioned in any Powys novels published before or since the Omnibus was released? That would make sense if the criteria is:
The character has to have been mentioned in an original Powys novel, or has taken part in additional scenes outside of the respective TV episode that he or she appeared in in a Powysverse novel.
Dave Reilly has an entry, but then, his character was deepened by his appearances in [b]Born For Adversity[/b]…
[spoiler]I loved the way Reilly was killed off. Perfect. Just perfect. I actually felt sad after reading it… great way to write out a (generally) disliked character & so very appropriate – a shoot out at the Alpha Coral![/spoiler]

You hit the nail on the head, Steve. It’s actually mentioned in the interview w/ Simon. Sally Martin likewise is mentioned, though she dies straightaway in The Lambda Factor. If a character had an expanded role other than what was broadcast, he or she “got” an entry.
You DO embarrass me a tad whenever you mention my brilliance. You don’t have to stop, just know that I blush… :blush:
