The Final Revolution 1.0 is complete!
No, that doesn’t mean you can order it. We’re still weeks away from release — I still have to do a fair amount of editing and fleshing out of some sections, but most of that goes pretty quickly. Sandy Byrne has permitted us to use MFMA in the novel (I think I “tweaked” two lines in it, the rest is as Johnny wrote it). We still need to get approval from ITV, but the rough part is over. I’m pretty sure this is my longest Space: 1999 novel — and I usually end up adding more during the final draft so you should be getting a fairly chunky book from yours truly.
Thanks everyone for your patience. I’ve been trying to focus all of my free time on getting this book written before jumping into all the other “publisher” stuff — that can now begin, while I start letting the juices build up for Odysseus Wept.
What’s been interesting for me to watch over the development of Final Revolution is there are pieces of this book that will slightly mirror things in “Interstellar” even though they were planned out before that film was even released. I think they’re different enough where nobody will be pointing fingers but it’s interesting to see different people taking on the same subjects and coming up with entirely different outcomes.
I think I’ve felt Joss Whedon’s pain of late — it’s hard when you’re juggling a lot of characters. I’ve tried to give everybody their time in the sun in Final Revolution but as you hit the last third of the book, you’ll be able to tell which character is really driving this story and that ends up leaving other folks with less than optimal screen time. Trying to cram everybody in all the time really slows down the story, so I generally try to stay away from that if I can.
Anyway, just thought I’d give everybody a quick update. More announcements coming over the next few months.
While you’re here, go nag someone to review our books up on Amazon! Even if it’s the person in the mirror!
