Well, it’s Monday noon, President’s Day. I have a lemon-lime squash and a glass of water–have you ever tried to drink a lemon-lime squash WITHOUT diluting it? [a tall glass of nothing but squeezed lemons and limes]. It’s the Powys equivalent of rocket fuel!
On to Chapter Three!
BTW, if anybody’s keeping score. We released Android Planet, Resurrection, and the Resurrection audiobook–all via Lulu, all THIS MONTH! That’s three releases in three weeks!
February 22, 2011 at 12:26 am #2018Glenn McCrabbParticipantI’ll give you Android Planet, but the others are reprints so they don’t count… 😛
You’re still on track for the book of the month club for me anyway. So far I have received one book in January (Chasing the Cyclops) and you have a week to scrape in my February book if Android Planet arrives…
Such a blistering pace, can you keep it up?
February 22, 2011 at 12:40 am #2019Mateo LatosaKeymasterThey do count! Resurrection had to be proofread and corrected, the cover layout had to be redone TWICE, due to a mix up with the logos. The Resurrection audiobook inserts had to be redesigned and then redone twice–again because of the logo confusion. The audio files also had to be re-tagged and configured to Lulu’s specs.
As well, both works had to be reformatted to Lulu’s very different specs. All that takes a fair amount of time and effort.
As well, I have proofread and corrected The Forsaken already. The artwork will have to be redone from scatch and the book reformatted to Lulu’s specs.
Even reissues require a significant amount of work.
Of course, we had the thrill of knocking off a digit in the edition countdown:
10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2
That felt good!
February 22, 2011 at 4:23 am #2020Mateo LatosaKeymasterI’ve now proofread and corrected Chapters One through Four. I added a few lines here and there, so I’ve sent the revised chapters off to John Mason for feedback. That’s all for this session. Maybe I’ll do more work on it later. To be quite honest, I’ve been sitting here for four and a half hours and I need to move about!

Traditionally that line of numbers is called the printer’s key or number line and is an indication of the print number, not the edition number. For a second edition this number line should still start at 1.
February 22, 2011 at 10:44 am #2022Mateo LatosaKeymasterWell, in this case both are true. It is a second printing, but the typo fixes could certainly make it a second edition.
February 22, 2011 at 10:45 am #2023Mateo LatosaKeymasterAnd, I finished proofreading and correcting Chapter Five as well. Five down, four to go.
February 22, 2011 at 10:53 pm #2024Steve FosterParticipantMateo is doing us all proud as usual.
We love you Mateo! Keep going! :cheer: 😉

If so – Yay!
If not – please release The Rose Petals cover, as I haven’t got this one (my version is the Planet over Year 1 Alpha cover).February 24, 2011 at 1:10 am #2027Mateo LatosaKeymasterSorry, but no. There won’t be NEW images for the reprints. Only reconstructions of the originals. I haven’t decided whether to do two covers or just one for The Forsaken. I am leaning toward one. I don’t want people buying two copies just to get two covers. The original was released that way as a compromise between Carlton and the author. The rose petal artwork by done by myself and Cesar Gallegos, who also did the layout of the cover.
February 24, 2011 at 5:13 am #2028Glenn McCrabbParticipantI remember buying two copies of that book to get the two covers, each one had its own meaning and I thought that one or the other would appeal to me more when I got them. Neither has so far. I must confess to buying two copies of each book anyway, just in case one gets damaged, or lost, or stolen, or.. or… or… So I actually may have 4 copies of that one, two of each cover. Just the crazy antics of a Space:1999 nut. :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo:
I did only buy one copy of the year 2 omnibus though, even my mind, fevered though it was at new Space books, draws the line at some things… 😉February 24, 2011 at 6:33 pm #2037Patrick ZimmermanParticipantmateo wrote:

Which has got me curious. Did the recent resurrection of Resurrection have its number line incremented to 2 as well?February 24, 2011 at 7:21 pm #2039Mateo LatosaKeymasterIt’s the only one that has.
March 10, 2011 at 5:43 am #2074Glenn McCrabbParticipantAny word on this book’s release, or any others for that matter? It’s been so long since I happy danced that my dancing shoes are gathering dust… 🙁
Geez I’m a complainer, no news for a week or so and I’m reduced to the worst sort of whinger.
Mind you it is all Powys’s fault for being so efficient and getting out so many books so quickly, we’re becoming used to a book for every month. If I go back and count up all of my Space 1999 books and apportion one per month from the date of first publishing I’m up to about 1980/81 (roughly) that leaves 360 books to print before we get caught up… 😛 :woohoo: Look what’s in store for us! :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo:
March 12, 2011 at 5:23 pm #2075Steve FosterParticipantHaha! As always, Zack’s post makes me smile 😉
Is it me… or has it gone… awfully quiet here in the Powysverse… 🙁
