I just put three Paypal buttons up on the Phoenix of Megaron page. For ordering in the U.S., in Canada, and in the Rest of the World. Sorry for the delay, but at least I got it done in the same month! 🙂

October 1, 2012 at 9:14 am #2760JohnParticipantMateo I tried to buy a copy of Phoenix Of Megaron. I clicked on the Buy It button image. It took me to PayPal. Not sure if my PayPal sent the $30 to Powys Media or not. I assumed Powys Media’s address was Powysmedia@yahoo.com. Is this correct? It did not accept powysmedia.com. The last time I bought a book I was taken directly to LuLu.com…I think? Is this not to be the case for Phoenix Of Megaron? Thank You for all your efforts!
October 1, 2012 at 3:41 pm #2761Mateo LatosaKeymasterPowys Media can be reached at:
powysmedia @ prodigy.net (just take out the spaces). We do not have a yahoo account. The buttons should already have the “to” part done automatically. “powysmedia.com” is our URL, not our email.
Oh and No, this book is not being sold via Lulu.com, but directly from Powys Media (for the moment). I had some 25 copies left over from the convention and am trying to sell those before we list the book on Lulu.com.

October 1, 2012 at 3:46 pm #2762Mateo LatosaKeymasterThe buttons are working. We’ve received two orders overnight: one from the UK and one from the US.
October 1, 2012 at 3:50 pm #2763Patricia SokolParticipantI’ll assume, perhaps, that Powys is first selling the already printed copies they have? That is why the link is to PayPal and not Lulu?
BTW, It took all of 15 seconds to order the book through PayPal. However, after I logged in and tried a “dummy order” to see what Spacer Ninety-niner might have encountered, I did not get directed to the PayPal page AT ALL. The browser timer spun for 5 seconds or so while “waiting for paypal.com” appeared in the tray, and then I stayed on the order page. (Mateo, if you have control over this, please do not send me the six books that I may have inadvertently ordered while trying to figure this out  )
Yippeee!
October 1, 2012 at 3:57 pm #2764Mateo LatosaKeymasterYou are shown as having ordered one book.

October 1, 2012 at 7:56 pm #2766JohnParticipantHello this is Space99er…but then you know this, right? :silly:
I cancelled the yahoo.com order and retried ordering via gmail.com – like you suggested. Did you receive the money at Powys Media? Will Phoenix Of Megaron soon be all mine? Mine! MINE! (evil Emperor Palpatine laugh). :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: 👿
October 1, 2012 at 8:49 pm #2767JohnParticipant:unsure: Well that gmail.com address did not work. My payment was Unclaimed and the gmail.com address was Unregistered. So I’ve cancelled that one and I’m now trying the prodigy.net address via PayPal. They say third time is a charm, eh? Or is it three strikes and you are out 😛 Oh and another question…I’ve been trying to send $30 for Phoenix Of Megaron. However that is a guess on my part regarding the price. I have never found an official price on all attempts to buy. I sure miss LuLu.com. That was easy. PayPal…not so much. But hey I’m hanging in there. I’m just that dedicated to Powys Media and Space:1999. :woohoo:
UPDATE! Well I think Powys Media received my payment via that prodigy.net address. Maybe. Sigh. I really, really miss LuLu.com. PayPal is for computer literate experts. I do not count myself as a computer literate expert. Not that any of you reading this could tell, right? 😛
But hey if all things work out I’ll have Phoenix Of Megaron!

Wait a minute…I’ve sent $30 on a wild guess at book cost and shipping / handling. I’m also not entirely sure how long it’ll be till the book arrives. Or for that matter who or what will deliver the book. Good thing I trust Powys Media. 😉
October 1, 2012 at 11:39 pm #2768Steve FosterParticipantI Sent $30 USD to the powysmedia@prodigy.net address. No problems encountered 🙂
October 2, 2012 at 12:12 am #2769Charles C. Albritton IIIParticipantOrdered.
Took me less than 10 seconds to get it, but I already had a Paypal account so that might have had something to do with it.
Looking forward to getting the Phoenix! This makes my 3rd copy (so to speak)–the first one, from back when it originally came out, got eaten by Katrina, while #2 is now part of my Gerry Anderson Library Version 2.0.

(copy #3 will look reeeeeeal NICE sitting next to the Pocket Books original)October 2, 2012 at 1:31 am #2771William LathamKeymasterFix — if you get the option to open in a new window, choose it — then your order may work.
October 2, 2012 at 2:24 am #2772JohnParticipantOK I must have done it right…because yes I took the option of opening a new window and it took me to the PayPal site. I did use the prodigy.net address given. I received a Verified message complete with that TKUnderground…such and such thingy. So I guess POM is headed my way?
 checks mailbox :woohoo: checks mailbox  checks maibox :woohoo: checks mailbox  …I’ll save the cigarette till after reading the book
October 2, 2012 at 2:27 am #2773Patrick ZimmermanParticipant:woohoo:
well, initially no joy for me either. But I found an easy solution! read on…
in Safari, the Buy It Now buttons do not function. nothing happens at all when they are clicked.
in Firefox, the Buy It Now buttons take me to a blank page
(this is on an Apple. PC’s probably behave different)
BUT, I found the workaround! Zack, or anyone else having trouble, try this:
you need to go to the Phoenix of Megaron page, in such a way that the full url is displayed in the address field of your browser. For me, for the problems above, they are caused by the address field never showing more than http://www.powysmedia.com no matter what page I’m on or where I am in the Powys site.
The Solution
you can either right click on the PoM image on the powys homepage, and select ‘open link in new tab/window’. That will open a page with the FULL address. Or click on the full address I’ve pasted below. Either way will take you to a page where the Buy It Now buttons work:

October 2, 2012 at 2:42 am #2774Simon MorrisParticipantEh……well, I don’t know why people have had problems. My order is probably the one ‘from the UK’ that Mateo mentioned. I used the appropriate Paypal button and got taken straight to the correct page. All done in about half a minute. That was at around 11:45am UK time today.
I use Firefox, just as a matter of interest.
Look forward to a new book popping through the door in a week or two. You can never have too much ‘John Rankine’…..
😀
