Hello to Powys Media-
I have a question. Can your books be ordered through the mail? I’m one of those people who really doesn’t trust the security of the internet. Do you guys do mail order? I really want to get a copy of “Space:1999-Sheperd Moon” like as soon as I can (thru the mail of course)…
January 26, 2010 at 10:27 pm #215Bill LathamKeymasterJust a suggestion — buy a gift card that can be used as a credit card.
Use a local Internet cafe or your local library’s internet connection.
Order the book using the gift card.
Not a whole lot a hacker can do to you under those conditions.

When I ordered my copy I didn’t use a credit card – I took the paypal option. Ok…not very ‘Bourne Identity’ I know…BUT never had a problem with paypal – pretty secure I think!
Just had an email from Lulu to say my book has been shipped…YAY !

January 28, 2010 at 1:01 am #221Mateo LatosaKeymasterAs suggested, pre-paid gift cards are a good way to make online purchases. Paypal is another–you only deal with Paypal, and Paypal deals with the seller/store. In other words, you pay Paypal, Paypal pays the store. The store/seller never sees your private information.
Another way to do it worry free is this: Open up a checking account in another bank–no checks, just a debit card. Put $100 or so in it. That way you can use a dedicated debit account for online purchases. And EVEN IF your card were stolen, you could only lose what you put in it–as opposed to, say, your whole paycheck.
You could even keep a minimum balance in it, and then just add cash when you wanted to make a purchase.
January 28, 2010 at 5:20 pm #225David A. SobralParticipantUnfortunately, I no longer trust banks & with good reason. Never mind the current financial crisis. Several years ago, a doctor that I was making monthly payments to, with his consent, hired a new bookkeeper. She discovered my outstanding balance & its’ age (about two years). Since it was not paid in full & me being none the wiser, she turned my account in for collection. I continued the monthly payments. After about six months of this, I discovered that the checks I’d written for my mortgage, auto insurance & utilities all bounced. Reason being? The collection agency applied for & was granted a court order authorizing them to withdraw the entire balance due (around $300) directly from my checking account. Five DAYS after this was done & after the checks bounced, I received notification from the court about their action. A week later, I received the letter from my bank. Of course, during the intervening 12 days, my checks were bouncing all over the place. Due to that banks’ actions, I no longer trust them with my money…Nor should anyone else.
January 28, 2010 at 8:47 pm #228DexParticipantI have noticed the shop is down. 🙁
When will this be corrected so that I may order?
Or is there any other place to make the order?Dex

Click on “Space:1999 Books” on the sidebar to the left (maked ‘Main menu’)
Then click on Shepherd Moon. The ‘buy now’ button, which links to the Lulu website, is at the top of the page.
I just tried it now and it works fine.
The direct link to the page:

Hope that helps
