First of all, PLEASE don’t respond to this post — this is purely informational.

You might have noticed Mateo’s been a little busy lately and hasn’t been putting out announcements for a bit — don’t worry, he’s fine. He’s had some interesting adventures of late.

In the truth is stranger than fiction department, for those of you who’ve read Chasing the Cyclops and knew Mateo lost a son a few years ago, Mateo’s son we just found out is actually alive (much to the surprise of everyone who knows him). Long story short, what appeared to have been a very tragic story has instead become a very odd story involving Mateo’s son serving some time in prison (which no one knew about — including Mateo).

Needless to say, this is kind of an awkward situation where we wanted to get the news out to you but not really air dirty laundry — this is a personal family matter, so while we wanted to explain Mateo’s absence for the past several weeks, this really isn’t an item that’s open to discussion — so, have a heart and let’s not discuss it other than to acknowledge that the foreword to Cyclops is now…well, incorrect — Mateo appreciates everybody’s concern. To further complicate matters over the past few weeks, Mateo’s other son disappeared for awhile and has now resurfaced — you can’t make this stuff up, folks. The prodigal sons, as it were, have apparently returned.

Strange stuff, but true (not an April Fool’s Joke, nothing fictional here). Mateo and I discussed on the phone tonight the best way to get any mysteries cleared up and this posting is the result. So, that’s what’s been up, end of story, let’s move on, and please don’t respond to this post (or start another one on this subject). New Space:1999 news and stuff on the way soon…

    Regards,

    BL
