Some quick hits (sorry, not having time to come up here lately):

1. For Ultra — who magically got the copy of Alpha by accident — my test reader David Bobzien (hi, David!) was the recipient of two copies of Omega when I’d ordered him a copy of one of each book — when he emailed me saying he’d gotten two copies of Omega, I wondered…hmm, I wonder if somebody’s gonna get a surprise!

2. For everybody — Pat Sokol’s book is awesome and addictive — I’ve been reading parts of the Compendium and it’s just so cool.

3. Children of the Gods has started — don’t know when it’ll be finished, but you’ll be seeing some interesting things in it.

4. I’ll be doing something for Prodigal Moon — I’m pretty sure JKM is, too.

5. Chasing the Cyclops is selling WAY better than we thought it would — we’re talking about going Kindle for it!

6. On the font front — we’ve looked at lots of fonts and sizes over the years — no plans to change anything (perhaps we should add Powys Magnifying Glasses to the Stuff list?).

7. The backlog of books to get out is growing exponentially, and yours truly is usually the logjam right now. Trying to get to these things.

8. The version of Eternity Unleashed that will be released will be pretty much the version from Eternity Unbound. The End of Eternity novelization is planned to go into the Year One Omnibus (with E. C. Tubb’s original novelization added as a bonus appendix). The version of Resurrection that will be re-released will be the original novel, not the modified version from Eternity Unbound. If there’s enough demand, someday, we may decide to re-release Eternity Unbound, but right now, there are no plans.

9. Don’t think we’ve seen the last of the ATAP Alphans — don’t think they’ll meet up with our Alphans again, but they may have their own adventures.

10. Whenever Ken Scott sends me emails now, he calls me Citizen, after my Batman reference in Cyclops — that’s so fun!

What does “going Kindle” mean. Sorry. I just don’t understand what that means

Delighted that sales for CTC are high though. & rightly so imho :woohoo: :cheer:

Kindle as in Amazon’s ebook reader. Kindle, Nook, there are all kinds of tools out there. Cyclops isn’t limited by the license agreement with ITV, so downloadable books are feasible, and this may be the first we put out there.

Kindle is an e-book format – Powys books on Kindle would be great !

Thanks (to both of you) for clarifying what Kindle means. Much appreciated. No wonder I had no idea what it was

I’m old fashioned you see. I like to buy a REAL book (aka a Hard Copy! See? I can do technobabble on occasion y’know! Haha!), hold it in my hands, and read it. One of life’s great pleasures imho, but I’m aware that these… e-book things are becoming more popular, so I can understand why Powys might be considering publishing CTC via that route, & why not? Go for it, that’s what I say. It’s just not something that would interest me that’s all.

I don’t have a Kindle (yet), but I do have “Kindle for PC” which allows you to buy e-books via Amazon using Kindle software–and the software download is FREE!

Penguin is publishing the Sarah Jane Adventures novelizations–now EXCLUSIVELY as e-books. Being a Doctor Who fan (and a completist–yes, I have every fiction Doctor Who book and audio EVER PUBLISHED, up to 2010 (I’m still catching up)–so when they went e-book only, I had to either buy a Kindle or go without. Then I found you could download the software for free and have the books on your PC instead of a Kindle unit.

Sweet!

High praise, indeed. I hope that’s in a can’t-eat-just-one-potato-chip (“crisp” for our off-shore friends) way, and not the selling-blood-to-a-bloodbank-to-buy-more-books way 😛 You are fixing the typoes along the way, right?

So, I’m sitting at a never-ending sporting event this afternoon (yeah, a swim meet) with my laptop balanced just so, and another mom asks what I’m writing. I tell her it’s a kind of reference book. Does she ask what kind? Nooo~~~~~ooooo. She just says, Oh that type of writing must be sort of dry. *sigh* But I know her husband was going all gaga over the desktop background, which just happens to feature two of the latest and greatest from Mr. Scott. (No, not that one, our Mr. Scott.)
4. I’ll be doing something for Prodigal Moon —
Do tell. I’m really gettin’ psyched about Prodigal Moon… Short stories are such fun.

Don’t rub it in.

Excellent.

Does 2011 count as Year 2 of the relaunch? Bigger. Better. More exciting than ever!

Let’s hope it doesn’t follow the history of the original series or we will be sorely disappointed. Year 2 was not bigger, definitely not better and in no way more exciting than ever.

Our Mr. Scott — the Miracle Worker — I’m amazed that’s only occuring to me now!

We need a new cover in four minutes or we’re all dead!

Yeah, that sounds about right.

And another… (dialogue tweaked from Star Trek III):

“How long until we can get a book out again?”
“8 weeks. But you don’t have 8 weeks… so I’ll do a cover for you in 2”
“Why Mr Scott… do you always multiply your delivery estimates by a factor of four?”
“Of course Mr Latham. How else could I keep my reputation as a “Miracle Worker?”
“Your reputation is secure Mr Scott. Latham out” :silly:
