We had originally planned for Shane Johnson’s story to take the post-Testament spot–and it still may, whether it be before or after these novels, I don’t know.
I missed Shane Johnson’s name in the list at the top of this thread…what is this story?

Shane wrote a novella entitled A Cry in the Wilderness. It may be included in the next anthology.

Ah, very cool. I had no idea he’d written in the 1999 universe. Looking forward to it!

Hmmm, lots to consider here, I had always placed the stand alone 1999 novels between series 1 and 2, I had never considered them to be other than that. What an interesting thought to place them between other stories…
@ Mateo – with every post you give just a little more away, we’ll have the full story out of you verrrry soon.

I’m very excited to hear about the release of The Prisoner’s Dilemma talking book. I was beginning to think you’d forgotten about your Prisoner fans!

Me, too! I believe of the three, Born For Adversity is my favorite…but that is because I am a Tony/Maya fan all the way and would still like to see them have their own child! Maybe the reappearance of Victor will help…I believe Dr. Russell mentioned it in BFA!
Yes, I will be approaching E.C. Tubb through his agent for the rights to reprint his two original Space: 1999 novels…

…if Alien Seed’s publishing rights are available, along with Rogue Planet, I hope to bring both books out again under the Powys imprint.

Rogue Planet and Android Planet are my two favorites of the 70s original novels.

Mateo, I know you’re juggling lots of new SPACE: 1999 projects at the mo, & I have to admit I’m excited about all of them! LOL! 😉 but I just wanted to check that what you said here (see above) is still the case/still your intention..?

Hopefully, if it is, Ken Scott would do new covers for these 2 E C Tubb novels should Powys release them in 2011/2012..?

Btw, the Eagle One media version of Alien Seed is riddled with typo’s! It’s a terrible re-release! Powys would no doubt ensure the text was entirely corrected upon re-release, doing justice to it 😉 B)

They’re great novels btw. Very interesting indeed. Off on characterisation in places, but very good on the whole. They definately deserve a place in the Powys-verse SPACE: 1999 mythology imho 😛

Definitely looking forward to The Whispering Sea and Prodigy Moon. 🙂 Let alone the re-write of Phoenix Of Megaron. :cheer:

After the rough year I have had, I’m looking forward to some new challenges and distractions in the 11th year of the 21st Century.

And those new distractions and challenges will be the next wave of Space:1999 novels. Stories that will certainly have surprises for the fans. Plenty of them, at that.

The intergalactic odyssey of Moonbase Alpha will see no end. And the Alphans, themselves, will encounter more than just the wonders and the mysteries of the universe, itself.

And that, is the best distraction to have, in the times we are living in. B)

Mateo,
Really looking forward to the Year One Omnibus.
I enjoyed Born for Adversity and thought it was a unique combination of both years except for the ending was handled regarding Maya, I thought the rest of the story was enjoyable. I just purchased Alpha and Omega and Shepard Moon, so I’m looking forward to some good night reads. I am glad to see the year two characters (especially Maya) are given the same prominence as the year one characters.
So, where’s the Omnibus?
And have you guys ever though about comic / graphic novel to add to the universe?
Bill
