Book cover art is not an option at this point, at least no ITV-property-related cover art. For the moment it is Powys Media stuff ONLY.
Well, that’s a drag, but to be expected. Suppose a clever bit of cropping were to maintain certain elements, but others, like an Eagle (should there be one in the cover art, of course…) were cropped out of the frame?
…I could authorize lots of different Powys items, but WHAT?

What would you like to have? How would like to show the world that you are a member of the Powysverse?!

Geez, boss! Just remember: you asked for it…

Dog tags. They’re shiny and make lovely clanky sounds.

Bookmarks. Multiple designs for multiple books (Powys logo, generic space shots, text pimping the other non-licensed Powys works, etc.)

Head bands. Anyone besides me old enough to remember Buckaroo Banzai? Remember the promo item that the fans ATE UP at cons before the move came out? An example.

T-shirts. Knowing fans as I do, I’d say that the idea of having T-shirts is, ahem, “A conclusion both unanimous. And obvious.” Design idea: a picture of the Cosmos with the captions somewhere on it “The Powysverse” and “You are HERE.”

I have more, but they’re related to licensed products, and so fall beyond the purview of this topic.

If you want to see my head bobble, just give me a couple of beers, I, notoriously, canNOT handle liquor.

A bobble head of Mateo… sounds like fun.

Some of the cover art would work, those that just show the moon on a starfield or the Forsaken alternate cover. Maybe some clothing or items featuring the phrase “Citizen of the Powysverse.” or somthing like that. If you were looking at stuff to tie into The Prisoner you could use a penny-farthing bicycle…

I wouldn’t want to restrict you to just 1999 related merchandise. 😉

    NEW STUFF!

When you click on the image of the mug it will take you to Powys Media’s page on http://www.zazzle.com . There, you will see on the lower right side a window that says “Other products by Powy Media”

We now have a second mug available. This one has three logos on it. The outer two are the red Powys logo on a black background. The center one is the red Powys logo on a white background.

And for those with iPhones, we now have iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 cases!

One day a Powys fan in their Powys logo’d garb will be at a science fiction convention, and they’ll see across the room another person adorned with the Powys “P” (yes, it’s actually a “P”), a kinship will be recognized, a conversation started, a beer drunk, and a perfectly good T-shirt stained! 😛

Citizens of the Powysverse! More stuff to come. I’ve now got high quality png files and will be putting up T-shirts and hoodies tomorrow!

I’m obviously pulling a Watson here, but I don’t see any mug on the Powys site.

Someone wanna clew me in as to where I should be looking?

PS–Hey, Boss! The web link in your post needs to lose the period at the end. When you click it as it stands, it comes up…

    Bad Request – Invalid Hostname

HTTP Error 400. The request hostname is invalid.

That is a browser issue. Firefox, for example, doesn’t display it. Odd.

At the top of the Powys Main Page there is the Powys logo, next to it the words NOW AVAILABLE, next to that the image of Chasing the Cyclops and next to that the image of the Powys mug.

If you don’t see that. Go to the menus on the left side of the Main Page, Click on Space: 1999 Books. In the center of the screen you’ll see a list of all the articles on this site associated with Space: 1999 Books. One of them is Powys Mug. On that page you will see the image of the mug which will link you to Powys Media’s page at Zazzle.

Or you can just use this link (be sure to look for “View all items”)

    http://www.zazzle.com/powys_media*

    Mateo,
Do you and powys media get a percentage of profits made from stuff. I’m sure every allphan would buy some if they knew they were supporting you and the company? I’ve already bought one of each mug. Cant wait for the t shirt, sweatshirt and hoodies 🙂 These will have to tide me over until the new books come out :cheer:

    🙂

Also, I chuckled when you mentioned the logo letter. I was just wondering about the logo (again) a couple days ago. At that time, it suddenly clicked that it was the letter ‘P’ — though I was at a bit of a loss as to the rest of the shape.

I kept looking at the large image of the mug with logo on the front page, with the black background and the boundary outside of it, and then I thought maybe there was a black ‘M’ surrounding the P (if one pictures the logo as ending right at the base of the ‘P’). Powys Media, then?

This morning, it struck me that there is also a ‘V’ right in plain view too. ‘P’ and ‘V’ — Powysverse?

So… P, M, and V inside/outside the same symbol? Powys Media’s Powysverse? Or is this a stretch on my part?

    🙂

David: Nice of you to put so much effort into it, but it’s just a “P” in a font I liked. Nothing more.

Alpha4ever: Thank you for buying Powys STUFF, and yes, we do receive a percentage of the sale. In fact, Zazzle allows us to choose any percentage we’d like, up to 90%! Of course they just ADD that percentage of the items basic cost (their manufacturing cost) on top, and the item becomes VERY expensive, very quickly. We are taking the standard (small)percentage, to keep the items affordable.

That said, every book you buy, every mug and T-shirt helps us put out more books. The good thing about Powys STUFF is that, unlike books and audios which take a large investment of cash up front to get done, they don’t cost us any money to produce.

    Stuff request:

Coasters with the Powys P on it. I can then buy a few to put wine glasses & (typically British) cups of tea on 😉 🙂

I’ll second that request…coasters for wine and tea 🙂 the tea being drunk of course from my new Powysverse mug

BTW Pat – add tea to the list !!
