I’d reading it now (and mulling over what I’m going to write for the foreword). The book is addictive, insightful, informative and often very funny! Well, back to it!

I’m up to page 113. Anybody who has ever thought of writing a novel or especially writing an entry in an existing franchise will find a mother lode of practical, helpful, insightful and surprisingly candid observations in this book.

I’m looking forward to this release, Mateo. I love reading a “Making of…” type of book and and am curious about how the whole Powys Space:1999 mythology has evolved. And humor is a plus! It sounds like this one will fill the bill for me. (Eeew, that was a bad pun, sorry!)

I’ll be writing the foreword for Chasing the Cyclops today. I want to finish reading it first (yesterday was kind of a non-Powys day). William Latham wrote a few new sections as late additions to the manuscript which I read yesterday.

And John Kenneth Muir and I had a long conversation–we don’t get to talk often (he’s a busy man). We discussed The Whispering Sea–which he referred to at one point as “The Whispering Dead”–which in turn clued me in to the fact that both of us are watching The Walking Dead. Conversation detour for almost an hour!

We discussed the possibility of audio book versions of JKM’s short stories in Shepherd Moon. He’s on board, Rupert’s on board…

Well, I’m gonna start my day. I’ve got a cyclops to chase, a foreword to write, and only a Sunday to do it.

at this rate Mateo..you’re gonna resemble one of those freakishly scary ‘walking dead’ maybe you should take a break…

ummmmmm…on second thoughts…no rest for the wicked…so keep going…we’re all ‘dying’ for the next powys offering 🙂

I’m not the one burning the candle at both ends…can you guess who is?

I AM trying to keep up the pace set over the Thanksgiving holiday week off (a non-paid, non-working furlough). I did 5, 6, 8, 10 hour-days typing and editing that book. But I was glad to be productive. The following week I got all the material to the author’s son. Then printed and started reading and proofreading Chasing the Cyclops (which I finished in four days!). Last night I wrote the foreword and sent it off to the author.

Between those projects, I started on Phoenix of Megaron, and have read most of the first chapter. I hope to be done by Christmas.

Meanwhile I’ve been shipping books ordered through the Powys site, and laying the groundwork for 4 books of photography, six more audiobooks, a commission to do a score for a short film as well as a music installation for a gallery….the list goes on. It’s a good busy.

Can’t wait to see Chasing the Cyclops in print and to hear all your reactions to it. We’re hoping you get them in time for Christmas!

Oh and did I mention I am in a group called Tecamachalco Underground and our first EP comes out in January? Anyone who’d like to hear our music go to http://www.myspace.com/tecamachalcounderground . You can preview all the music from the EP, entitled Innocence.
