Oh how mean making us choose our favourite Ken Scott cover  Each one is special in it’s own way. I was originally going to choose Android Planet because the cover brought back so much of the story to me. As a long time favourite book I was amazed at how many memories came baxk to me of various parts of the story from just the one image. Even things that I wouldn’t have thought could be like, Infrangom, Pelorous and Copreon… 🙂 I ended up voting for Omega though because it had a hawk on the cover. :cheer: So glad the hawk has made a welcome return to the 1999 stable and will be a permanent resident of the Powysverse. :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: Yes it is Happy Dance time!

I like Phoenix of Megaron because it’s blue and watery. Is that shallow? (No pun intended. Really.) It’s …it’s…. it’s pretty. I know, that’s not necessarily a huge selling point in Sci Fi, but, if the gauntlet fits…

Such a softie Pat. Is blue your favourite colour? 😛
It is a nice cover and the picture tells part of the story. But it didn’t resonate with me as much as Android Planet. When I first looked at that, the whole story ‘zinged’ (is that a word? ) through my brain at a million miles an hour as though I’d just finished reading it.
I’d love to see Ken’s interpretation of the Alien Seed before it was destroyed, now theres a cover to look forward to. 🙂

Ken’s covers are really awesome. I am certainly looking forward to the next set, when those books are released.

Yes, Ken is very talented. At the Earthbound convention in 2005 I talked to him and was surprised to learn that he was not a graphic designer by profession.

I’m curious what 3D program he uses to create these great images.

Maybe, when the time is right, Powys should consider a book of Ken’s Space 1999 artwork. A picture depicting each episode and his awesome covers would be a magnificent addition to my 1999 library. 🙂

    I’m thinking… coffee table book. B)

Great idea Zack…maybe a year or two down the road – lets give Mateo & BL time to give us more books and Ken Scott time to creat more amazing artwork…

I voted for Shepherd Moon – it’s my favourite cover so far 🙂

it totally captures the essence of YEAR 1 for me…all moody and atmospheric
