November 4, 2010 at 1:14 pm #1318Ally DaviesParticipantWOW  that was amazing – didn’t think it would be that different…
OK – need some help here…
I have the blu-ray boxed set in my basket at amazon…the problem is…not convincing my husband that he should buy it for me as a belated birthday present…I could work on that easily…
NO…I have a far bigger problem
I’d need him to buy me a blu-ray player and blu-ray laptop too…
any ideas ????
Let him buy something expensive for himself, then guilt him into it!
Sshhhh. Don’t let the guys know. 😉
November 5, 2010 at 12:38 am #1320Glenn McCrabbParticipantI have ordered mine from the UK as it is the same region as Australia. It will be here next week, problem is, I don’t have a player yet… 🙁 At least I can look at the new extras.
November 5, 2010 at 9:56 am #1322Mark SpaldingParticipantBut some of the extras are on the blu-ray discs themsleves I think. For instance the large collection of rare stills.
And I’m in the same boat– no player yet!
November 5, 2010 at 2:55 pm #1323Glenn McCrabbParticipantThe UK disks have a different layout ranged accross 7 disks. I’m pretty sure the extras I really want to see are all on the last 2 disks.
November 5, 2010 at 4:44 pm #1324Patricia SokolParticipantSort of cross-posted from another forum…
UK (Network) version of the BDs arrived here yesterday, and they are stunning. Not perfect, in all fairness, but spectacular nonetheless. They appear to be region-free, because they play in a PS3 and a region-free (OK – hacked, Phil, HACKED) BluRay player even when it’s in Region A. I don’t have a run-of-the-mill BD player, but my TV is NTSC only, if that helps anyone.
The stills alone are worth upgrading from previous DVDs. I haven’t watched everything, obviously, but if you have an eye for detail, you will love this set. I ordered the UK version because it appeared from the release announcements that it would have more extras. Total was $79.95 inclusive at the exchange rate at the time (amazon.co.uk) vs. currently ~$70 at amazon.com

I haven’t watched the show since the old Carlton DVDs came out and it’s surprising how much I’d forgotten. I’m really enjoying rediscovering it.
A generous selection of bonus features too. The Sylvia Anderson interview is very eye opening but may shatter a few illusions !
