December 31, 2009 at 9:37 am #110Chris DaltonParticipantThe reason why I am here is because of the Space:1999 books. Having been a fan of the British Science Fiction series since its debut in 1975, I am looking forward to new adventures concerning the Alphans and the continuing intergalactic odyssey of Moonbase Alpha.
I’m glad that powysmedia is back after so many years. I was worried that the company had folded and the series was cancelled.
2010 will definately be a wonderful year as far as Space:1999 is concerned.
After a long dry period, The future is still fantastic. B)

i’ve been waiting six years!
January 6, 2010 at 8:22 am #117Bill LathamKeymasterStill in the discussion phase. These kinds of books are the hardest to get out — a lot of work has already been done on it, just too early to release any concrete news.
January 13, 2010 at 5:49 am #126AnonymousGuestIs there likely to be a Prisoner section of the forum? Blum and Booth’s The Prisoner’s Dilemma was absolutely outstanding, and I’d really like to get a copy of Andrew Cartmel’s Miss Freedom.

I can’t wait for the new books.
Space 1999 has to be ‘kept alive’ and I so appreciate everything you’re doing to achieve this!

February 5, 2010 at 3:35 am #294Benjamin AdamsParticipantJust saying Hi, snce this appears to be the thread to do it in! I’m a big 1999 fan and have been ever since those heady days in the mid’70s, when I had a giant Mattel Eagle and the world was new.
Since then I’ve become a professional writer, with over 30 short story sales to my credit, including a couple for Big Finish’s line of Doctor Who anthologies. I also co-edited The Children of Cthulhu for Del Rey Books. I doubt I would have become a writer if I hadn’t had 1999 and Doctor Who there to help inspire me.
Thank you, Mateo, for bringing back John, Helena, Victor, Alan and the rest!

It was in my parents’ basement for quite a few years but I reclaimed it a while back. Haven’t convinced my wife that the rec room would look better with the Eagle suspended from the ceiling, though, so it’s still in its box.
